Video of Season 3: Episode 4 - “I Am Become Death”

Wow, this one was pretty sweet.  If you haven’t seen it yet, watch it below.  Leave your thoughts in the comments.

“If you die this season, you’re dead”

An interesting quote from Heroes creator Tim Kring, by way of SF Universe.  Very simply: “If you die this season, you’re dead.”

The person that revealed the quote was Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli), so one has to wonder if he was referring to his own character.  I tend to doubt it, but you never know…

Volume 4 of Heroes will be called “Fugitives”

According to Digital Spy, volume 4 of Heroes is going to be titled “Fugitives”.  This leads to the obvious question, posed by Heroes Revealed:

If there are going to be some fugitives by the end of this season, who do you think they might be?

Official description for Season 3, Episode 2: “Dreamtime”

As you know, the season premiere of Heroes will be a three-hour event.  The first hour will be a recap of the past two seaons.  The second hour will be the first episode of season three (which we gave details of here), and the final hour will be episode two, titled “Dreamtime”.

Here is the official description for “Dreamtime” (via Superhero Profiles):

“A DOZEN VILLAINS WITH UNIMAGINABLE POWER ARE UNLEASHED AFTER THE COMPANY IS ATTACKED — SYLAR VS. ELLE (KRISTEN BELL) — ANGELA PETRELLI (CRISTINE ROSE) TAKES CONTROL AND REVEALS A JAW-DROPPING SECRET — WRITTEN BY CREATOR TIM KRING AND DIRECTED BY EXECUTIVE PRODUCER GREG BEEMAN — In the shocking second chapter of “Volume 3: Villains,” Angela (Cristine Rose) clashes with her much-changed son, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia), over how best to avert a seemingly inevitable worldwide catastrophe. First, Sylar (Zachary Quinto) declares war on the Company by attacking their main facility, and finds even more than he bargained for on Level 5. During a devastating battle with Elle (guest star Kristen Bell), a dozen savage criminals — all with terrible abilities — escape.

Meanwhile, Claire (Hayden Panettiere) discovers something new and unexpected about her abilities. Determined to reclaim his family’s terrible secret, Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (James Kyson Lee) track Daphne (guest star Brea Grant) to Paris. After a fateful night, Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is thrilled to find his research, his life and his relationship with Maya (Dania Ramirez) evolving in leaps and bounds. Stuck in unfamiliar territory, Matt (Greg Grunberg) finds a guide (guest star Ntare Mwine) to help him. Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar and Jack Coleman star. Ashley Crow, Jessalyn Gilsig, Malcolm McDowell, Stephen Tobolowsky, Bruce Boxleitner, Francis Capra, Blake Shields, William Katt, Ken Lally, David H. Lawrence XVII, Andre Royo and Kiko Ellsworth guest star.”

We’re still nearly a month away, but I’m excited already!

Dana Davis (aka “Monica”) leaving Heroes

Many people complained about the glut of new characters is last year’s strike-shortened Heroes season 2.  Now the producers are apparently cleaning it up.

Alejandro bit the dust late last season, and now we’ve learned that Monica will be gone “fairly quickly”.

I’m torn about this.  I kind of enjoyed her character, but I agree that they were streching things pretty wide.  Hopefully losing her will allow them to focus back in on the core set of characters.  We’ll find out soon!

Official description for Season 3 premiere

We’re just over a month away from the season 3 premiere, and NBC has just released the official description for the hour long show.

“VOLUME 3: VILLAINS” MAKES A TWO-HOUR SPECIAL DEBUT WITH REVELATIONS THAT WILL REDEFINE FAMILIAR CHARACTERS AND SHAKE THE SERIES TO ITS CORE — The first chapter of “Volume 3: Villains” kicks off moments after shots rang out, as the shocking identity of Nathan’s (Adrian Pasdar) assassin and the reasons why the Texas press conference had to be cut short are revealed — immediately throwing Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) and Matt (Greg Grunberg) into unexpected, uncharted territory. With his powers partially restored, Sylar (Zachary Quinto) decides a visit to Claire (Hayden Panettiere) could give him a boost. Meanwhile, in Tokyo, Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (James Kyson Lee) are charged with safeguarding a family secret that could split the planet apart, and discover that the path to a grim future starts with shady speedster, Daphne (guest star Brea Grant). In New York City, thanks to Maya (Dania Ramirez), Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) makes a startling breakthrough that could change the world — or just destroy his. And who is Tracy Strauss? Ali Larter, Cristine Rose and Jack Coleman star. Noah Gray-Cabey, Ashley Crow, Randall Bentley, Jimmy Jean-Louis, George Takei, Malcolm McDowell, Carlon Jeffery, Jamie Hector, Bruce Boxleitner, Francis Capra and Blake Shields guest star.

Seth Green and Breckin Meyer to join Heroes as “comic book geeks”

Given the deep ties that Heroes has with comic books, adding a few characters like this makes some sense.  According to Buddy TV, the two geeks would “cross paths with, and serve as important advisors to, one or more of the heroes”.  That makes perfect sense.

However, TV Squad brings up a great point.  Season 2 introduced a bunch of new characters in a very short season.  Adding even more could cause some problems.  Still, this seems like it might be a fun addition to the show.  We’ll find out soon!

Ali Larter returning for Season 3

As reported by E! Online (via Superhero Profiles), Ali Larter will be returning for Season 3.  The big explosion may have killed Niki Sanders (maybe not, you never know), but Ali will be returning as Tracy Strauss.  No word on what the deal is with that character yet.

On a side note, check out the poll on Superhero Profiles.  It asks “Will Ali Larter be a “hero” or “villain” for season 3?“, then gives the choices of “yes/no” rather than “hero/villain”.  Oops!  I told them about the small goof a few days ago, but they haven’t fixed it.  However, 13 people have voted on it, even though they have no idea which answer corresponds with “hero” and which one with “villain”. :)

Claire’s mom returning for season 3

A nice tidbit from Heroes Revealed, via Michal Ausiello at TVguide:

Casting scoop! Sources confirm to me exclusively that Jessalyn Gilsig is reprising her role as Claire’s white-trash mom for five episodes next season.

I figured that they’d bring her back, but it’s nice to get some confirmation of it.

Season 2 DVD coming on July 28?

According to Amazon.co.uk (via Heroes Revealed), the DVD set for Heroes Season 2 will be out on July 28, 2008.  Along with DVD, there will also be a Blu-Ray version.

It’s listed at a price of £24.98, which is nearly $50 in US currency.  Seems a bit steep for just 11 episodes, doesn’t it?
